Hello fall and move over pumpkin pie! Pumpkin crisp is going to be your new favorite recipe for a pumpkin dessert this Thanksgiving. The crunchy oat topping balances out the smooth pumpkin puree filling perfectly.

So you basically take best part of an apple crisp (the crumbly top part) and the best part of a pumpkin pie (the filling) and combine them into this one incredible dessert. It’s easy to make and perfect for all you pumpkin fanatics out there!


  • 6 tablespoons salted butter, slightly melted
  • 2/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon


  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  1. Preheat the oven to 375° F.
  2. Make the crisp topping by combining the flour and butter with a mixer. Then mix in the oatmeal and brown sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, make the batter by combining the sugar and eggs with a mixer. Then mix in the milk, pumpkin, vanilla, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Pour pumpkin batter into an 8×8″ or 9×5″ baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the streusel topping on top of the pumpkin batter. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until the center is set.

When served warm with ice cream and sprinkles on top, this crisp will make you forget pumpkin pie ever existed. This delicious fall dessert is a great way to refresh your Thanksgiving menu, while keeping that warm pumpkin spice flavor we all love.
